Theres probably more that I can't recall right now.Īmong the Sleep 3D in the adventure horror vibe, but i think its a good fit with those other 2Ī Story about my Uncle 3D adventure with a cool environment and a hook-line thing to move aroundĪ Hat in Time, mario odyssey but more funĪlso, if you pick up Hollow Knight you can also look into Souls-Like games, theres a bunch of indie games that follow the vibe of dark souls (similar to hollow knight as others said) and theres some really cool options among them.ĭont be afraid to pivot from one genre to another in general.
#Games like ori and the will of the wisps free#
Spyro trilogy remake (Its very bright and fun)Ĭrash Bandicoot trilogy remake (not free roam, 2D ish)Īlice: Madness Returns (kinda edgy and dark, but really really cool environments) Some other pure platformers that are just old-school and just fun-time relaxing games: Tiny and big grandpas leftovers (Awesome slicer gun!, lets you use cut out parts of walls or w/e and use use it as a path)Īntichamber (very interesting gimmick with the puzzles) Papo & Yo (short but sweet indie game, the story is very sad though), When games like Hollow Knight are bringing imaginative, creative. It would have been nice for Will of the Wisps to push the boat out a little more here. From an aesthetic perspective, the adherence to formula is a little disappointing. Here was a striking 2D platformer that staked out the visual middle ground between a Pixar short and an oversaturated photograph of a fantastical forest. Largely speaking, though, Ori and the Will of the Wisps is business as usual when it comes to level design. Quantum Connundrum (its very similar to Element4l letting you transform the ENTIRE ROOM instead, incredibly fun) Moon Studios’ first game, Ori and the Blind Forest, was notable for the same reason. Macfield and the Island of Memories Hollow Knight. I don't find it as clean as a game like Hollow Knight which layers contrasting effects to make everything feel clear and concise un its brutal but beautifully grim world. Unravel 1 and 2 are 2d puzzle platformers with a really cutesy wholesome vibeĪbout 3d puzzle games, aside from portal that you already played, theres: GRIS Sea of Solitude Rain World Night in the Woods Neversong The MISSING: J.J. Ori is beautiful but it also has a ton going on visually that can be pretty distracting, which adds to the difficulty. 1y Hollow Knight is very similar, but with more emphasis on combat and less on platforming.I highly recommend it though, there is a lot to do in it. Element4l is a 2d platformer style game where you transform your little guy to overcome the puzzles through the physics of each form Hollow Knight is a lot like Ori in terms of gameplay, it’s a great game as well, slightly less story revolving and more combat but there’s still a story to follow.
